Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before climbing Kilimanjaro

The Lemosho Route has the highest success rate at over 90%, thanks to its longer duration and excellent acclimatisation profile. The 9-day Northern Circuit offers even higher success rates at 95%+.
No prior climbing experience is required, but a good level of fitness is recommended. Our guides will support you every step of the way. The Marangu and Lemosho routes are particularly suitable for first-time climbers.
Temperatures at the summit can drop to -15°C to -20°C. We provide detailed packing lists and quality sleeping bags rated to -15°C to ensure you're well prepared for the cold conditions.
Our prices include park fees, accommodation, meals, guides, porters, camping equipment, and transfers. International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, and tips for the crew are not included.
The best times are January-March and June-October. These periods offer the most favorable weather conditions with clearer skies and minimal rainfall. The June-October period is drier but colder, while January-March is warmer.
You should be able to walk 6-8 hours per day for multiple consecutive days. We recommend starting training at least 3-6 months before your climb. Focus on cardiovascular exercises, leg strength, and hiking with a loaded backpack.
Altitude sickness is the biggest challenge on Kilimanjaro. We recommend choosing a longer route (7+ days) for better acclimatization. Our guides carry emergency oxygen and first aid kits, and are trained to recognize and manage altitude-related symptoms.
Some camps have charging facilities for a small fee. However, we recommend bringing a power bank as charging availability can be limited and unreliable. Solar chargers are also a good option.
