After breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, depart at 8:00 AM and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Tarangire is famous for its giant baobab trees, large elephant herds, and diverse wildlife. Upon arrival, begin an exciting game drive through the park while searching for lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and many bird species. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park at a scenic spot overlooking the Tarangire River. The game drive continues into the late afternoon to maximize wildlife viewing. In the evening, transfer to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast at 6:30 AM, depart for Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a half-day game drive. Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most remarkable wildlife destinations. With luck, you may spot the Big Five — lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and the endangered black rhino. The crater is home to over 25,000 large mammals including hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and hyenas. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool where you can observe these giant creatures up close. After an incredible morning of wildlife viewing, ascend the crater wall and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening to conclude your unforgettable 2-day safari.
